CSA means Community Supported Agriculture. Our CSA shares consist of a grocery bag full seasonal vegetables that will be available for pickup or delivery every other week during the growing season, 10 shares total. Every share will contain a variety of vegetables and the amount of produce you receive will depend on the health of the garden. If we have a bountiful harvest, you’ll have a bountiful share.
We will deliver the CSA to your doorstep on Tuesdays from 1-3 PM, or you may pick up your share at our farm on Tuesdays from 3-6 PM. Delivery fees are based your on distance from the farm.
The CSA share will contain some common vegetables and some less-common vegetables. Customers will not be able to choose what they receive in the basket, they will always get some common vegetables (tomatoes, corn, lettuce), but they will also be urged to try new things (kohlrabi, turnips, eggplant). We will make eating your veggies an even greater experience by providing healthy recipes in our CSA newsletter.
This year we will be offering two kinds of CSA shares: a regular share and a work share. The regular CSA share is $200, and shareholders will receive vegetables every other week during the growing season. The cost of the work share is only $150, you will receive the same amount of vegetables as the regular share, but shareholders will be required to invest at least 15 hours of their time working on the farm. The purpose of the work share is to build community, to compliment the paid gardeners’ time, and to teach shareholders about organic gardening and where their food comes from.
