Griffith Buck (1915–1991) was a professor of horticulture at Iowa State University who created over 80 varieties of roses, all of which are capable of withstanding temperatures of -20°F and need no pesticides or fungicides to thrive.

A variety of vegetable plants are available each spring:
Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, and more. Most of the varieties that we grow are heirloom varieties. Availability is seasonal.
Other garden flowers, grasses, perennials and ornamentals may be available throughout the year. We love to grow all kinds of plants and flowers, so who knows what you’ll find when you come to our market stand.
